Work shows strong evidence of ones own creativity.

Work has some purpose/direction.

Half of the work shows some evidence of one's own thinking.
Needs Improvement

The sense of exploration of the medium is missing. There is at least some sense of artistic decision-making.
Significant Growth Area

There is little, if any, evidence of thinking.
Critical Thinking

Above Standard

Work shows evidence of strong critical thinking or analysis.
If there are apparent photographic or published sources, there is also a strong sense of individual transformation.
Meets Standard

Work shows sense of real effort. In general, the work demonstrates some degree of success.
If there are apparent photographic or published sources, the student's individual "voice" can be discerned.
Approaching Standard

Technique is erractic, with little or no sense of challenge.
Work may show a sense of real effort, but problems are not successfully resolved.
If there are apparent photographic or published sources, the work appears to be nearly direct reproduction; the student's "voice" is weak.
Needs Improvement

Solutions to problems tend to be more simplistic.
Attempts to deal with ideas or technical problems are not realized.

Technique is poor.
Solutions tend to be lacking.
Cooperation/Collaboration

Above Standard

Class time was used wisely.
Much time and effort went into the planning and design of project. Student welcomes feedback and applies all feedback to improve final draft.
Meets Standard

Class time was used wisely.
Student could have put in more time and effort into the project during class. Student listens to feedback. Some of the feedback is applied to final draft.
Approaching Standard

Some of the class time was used wisely but a portion of that class time the student was not on task. Student listens to some critiques and but applies little to no feedback.
Needs Improvement

Class time was not always used wisely, but student was not off task all class. Student does not welcome feedback or work to improve draft.
Significant Growth Area

Class time was not used wisely and the student put in no additional effort.
