Historical Battlefield Preservation
Select a specific battle from the Civil War Era (1850-1900) and pretend that it is being threatened by modern development. You need to develop a thorough proposal (two pages typed/four pages written) that (1) states your position; (2) provides several historical facts to support the preservation; (3) reasons why future tourists/generations would benefit from the preservation of the site. Think about the historical facts associated with the battle and the significance it plays in American history. Please be persuasive, encouraging, and creative with your tactic. Include a title page with your name, title, teacher, and date. A bibliography is also required. You are also required to create a poster to supplement your proposal. On a standard poster board, include pictures, a thematic border, and other clips of persuasive information. You may use pictures from the Internet; however, you must provide proper citation.
