This is a rubric based off of students performance on writing a first person narrative from a perspective of a Loyalist. The paragraph should be related to what we learned in class.

Use of Perspective	Excellent Narrator clearly shows the perspective of a Loyalist by using a balance of feelings, opinions, and facts in the piece that create an accurate portrayal of a Loyalist.	Good Narrator clearly portrays the perspective of a Loyalist.	Fair Narrator writes from a Loyalist, but sometimes uses more facts than feelings to illustrate the correct perspective.	Emerging Narrator writes as if he is a Loyalist, which is shown by the use of personal feelings throughout the piece.
Fluency	Excellent Narrator's piece uses topic sentences, simple, complex, and compound sentence structures. Ideas are thought out and sequential.	Good Narrator's piece has a topic sentence, some complex, compound, and some simplistic sentence structures. Most ideas are thought out and sequential.	Fair Narrator's topic may not be clear, but one is evident. Narrator uses simplistic sentence structure. Some ideas are sequential.	Emerging Narrator has some sequential ideas. However, may be missing topic sentences.
