The author's purpose is difficult to discern.	Poor Theme and purpose are not apparent
Organization	Excellent Essay fits format, with a strong introduction and conclusion. Paragraphs flow in a coherent and logical manner.	Good Essay adheres to the format, with a satisfactory introduction and conclusion. Paragraphs are arranged coherently.	Fair Essay strays from standard format; introduction and conclusion are weak. Paragraphs are somewhat unclear.	Poor Essay adheres to no apparent format; introduction and conclusion are indistinguishable. Paragraphs are unstructured.
