Criteria
	Excellent 3 pts	Good 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Posture/Technique	Excellent Student used good posture during class. Proper posture is helping student improve playing technique.	Good Student is asked once to improve posture. Posture is occasionally affecting playing technique.	Poor Student slumps down in seat and does not hold instrument correctly. Poor posture is directly affecting playing technique.
Playing Instrument	Excellent Student is always ready to play.	Good Student is ready to play some of the time. Teacher has to wait for student to put up instrument to start.	Poor Student is rarely ready to play. Teacher consistently needs to ask student to put up instrument to start.
Behavior/Engagement	Excellent Student does not talk or play while teacher is talking. An active listener.	Good Student sometimes talk or plays while teacher is talking. Student has trouble listening to directions.	Poor Student talks constantly or plays instrument at the wrong time. Student rarely listens to directions the first time and slows down rehearsal by having to hear directions a second time.
