Completeness

Poor

The student's response provides little to no explanation on how his/her examples answer the question OR the student provides no examples.
Fair

The student answers only one portion of the question in its entirety. For example, only one example is given, or an opinion is given without any explanation.
Good

The student responds to the initial question with a complete statement and gives two developed, supporting details to support his/her statement.
Excellent

The student gives a complete response to the question, including at least three detailed examples from the passage and explains how these examples support his/her answer.
Clarity

Poor

The student's response is unclear and shows little to no connection to the question asked.
Fair

The majority of the student's response is unclear, but one example is articulated and shows a clear connection to the question.
Good

The student's response includes two clearly articulated examples, and the student is able to tell the audience his/her opinion in a direct manner.
Excellent

The student writes with complete clarity and does not make the audience guess at what his/her opinion is.The answer is supported by 3 examples which are all clearly articulated.
