Poor Subject is obscure or far too broad or general to be appropriate or manageable	Fair Subject is not immediately apparant and/or in need of development	Good Subject is clear enough with some detail but probably needing more	Excellent Subject is clear and easy to find, presented with right amount of detail and description that is accurate
a clear overall judgment is the overall judgment clear and easy to discern? Is it decisive and not wishy-washy, yet not extreme?	Poor Overall judgment is either obscure or, on the other hand, clear but ranting or overstated	Fair Overall judgment not immediately apparant with an unfocused thesis stated or implied; attitude begins to overwhelm the reasonableness of the work	Good Overall judgment is apparant (perhaps via a thesis that needs further focusing) and is moderate in tone	Excellent Overall judgment is clear, decisive and easy to discern (perhaps via a well-constructed thesis) and avoids being extreme
Reasons and support Are there enough reasons that are appropriate, relevant to the category, clear and convincing? Are comparisons used effectively?
