Approaching Standards Student speaks about a contribution that is more selfish than selfless.	Meets Standards Student speaks about a contribution that may on help a few people, such as their family members, and not the community at large.	Exceeds Standards Student speaks about a contribution that will strongly help the community in which they lived in.
World-to-Self Connection	Below Standards Student does not make a connection to a historical figure.	Approaching Standards Student make a connection to a historical Renaissance figure but does not provide proof for the connection.	Meets Standards Student connects their contribution to a historical Renaissance figure, but the proof that connects them is not very strong or is unrelated.	Exceeds Standards Student is able to relate the topic to a specific Renaissance historical figure and is able to make the connection with strong proof.
Grammar, Spelling, Mechanics	Below Standards Students makes more than 10 spelling or grammar mistakes and there is no essay format present.	Approaching Standards Student makes 5-10 spelling or grammar mistakes and the essay is in 2 paragraphs.
