Opening statement is clear and precise introduction to subject; background material provides and insightful explanation of clear thesis. 3 thorough main points the minimum of 3 details for support

Over ten errors per page
Written quickly; incorrect, repeated, or left-out words; little or no revising done; may be difficult to follow

Words may be left out, incorrectly used, or too often repeated, though some attempt has been made to improve problem wording
6-10 errors per page

Words used correctly; efforts are made to vary wording; written and revised carefully, according to instructions
3-5 errors per page

Words are used efficiently; varied and carefully chosen wording; written and revised effectively; less than 3 errors per page

Only the final copy has been handed in.
