How a bill becomes a law brochure 
Learning goal: Students will create a 6 panel brochure that will explain a current bill in Congress. The brochure will explain the bill and topic, explain where in the lawmaking process the bill is currently at and what steps in the process the bill still needs to go through.

The student clearly demonstrates an understanding of how a bill becomes a law with a thorough explanation of the process, including committee work.
Good

The student demonstrates an understanding of how a bill becomes a law, but may not have as many details and explanations as they could.

The student demonstrates an understanding of how a bill becomes a law, but there was one omission or mistake in the process.

Is the brochure organized with a title panel, informational panels, and pictures?

The information is clearly organized and the overall presentation of the brochure is professional looking.
Good

The information is organized, but the overall presentation could be improved some.
Fair

The information is all there, but some may not be on the correct sections and/or the overall presentation appears somewhat sloppy.
Poor

The organization, or lack of, in the brochure takes away from understanding the information presented and/or the overall presentation appears to have been slapped together.
