Quick Writes

Quick Writes are designed to expand a student's ideas on various topics that they may want to turn into a full length composition in the future. It provides students with practice in brainstorming, magnification, and story planning.

Depth of Development	Poor Student has not written down the writing prompt, date, and/or did not magnify or plan. They just made a basic list.	Fair Student has the writing prompt, and date but has not fully magnified their initial brainstorming list and/or has not developed a working plan in the form of a web or outline.	Good Student has all the appropriate heading information on their paper and completed the magnification and prewriting planning process.
Neatness	Poor Work has been done on a tornout piece of scratch paper and/or is illegible. Work may have more doodling than actual writing.	Fair Work has been completed in student's spiral, however it is sloppy and difficult to read.	Good Work has been completed in the appropriate section of the student's spiral and is clear and easy to read.
