The diorama shows considerable attention to construction. All items are carefully and securely attached to the backing. There are no stray marks, smudges, or glue stains.

The diorama shows attention to construction. All items are carefully and securely attached to the backing. A few barely noticeable stray marks, smudges, or glue stains is present. Some items in the diorama may detach if diorama is moved but can be easily put back into place.

The diorama shows some attention to construction. Some items in the diorama are not secure and detach/break easily.

The diorama is put together sloppily. Items appear to be just "slapped on," pieces may be loose or hanging over the edges and/or stray marks are evident. Items in diorama fall apart or do not stick together.

The project content is exemplary and suggests the student has discovered important ideas, themes, and/or images related to the novel. Content knowledge shown through the diorama is above and beyond expectations.

The project content is good and suggests the student has discovered most of the significant ideas, images, and/or themes in the novel. Content knowledge shown through the diorama is very good.

The project content is acceptable and suggests the student has not discovered some of the significant ideas, images, and/or themes in the novel. Content knowledge shown through the diorama is adequate.

The project content is poor and suggests the student does not have a thorough understanding of the novel. Important ideas, themes, and images from the novel are not shown through the diorama.
