Due date & completion	Poor Only one of the poems is completed before the due date.	Fair Only one or two of the poems are completed and not before the due date.	Good Poems completed or only two completed and not before the due date.	Excellent All poems are completed on or before the due date.
Types of poems	Poor All of the poems are written incorrectly.	Fair Two poems are written incorrectly.	Good One poem is written incorrectly.	Excellent All poems are written correctly according to the format for each type of poem.
Writing Mechanics	Poor Eight or more errors in grammar, spelling, or punctuation present.	Fair Five or more errors in grammar, spelling, or punctuation present.
