Project shows some planning but on a small level since project reflects lack of thinking about, planning, and materials were coordinated before putting project together
Below average: D

Project was completed and turned in, but shows very little evidence of any planning and coordinating of ideas and materials before putting project together.
Creativity/ Originality

Inventiveness, generation of ideas and use of imagination. Willingness to take risks.

Project shows that student generated many ideas built upon previous knowledge. Demonstrated willingness to take risks.
Above average: B

Project shows that student tried a few ideas built upon previous knowledge. Not willing to take a risk.
Average: C

Project shows that student tried one idea and carried it out adequately, but lacked originality.
Below average: D

Project shows that student completed the assignment but gave no evidence of trying anything unusual.
Effort/Perserverance

What it takes to finish the project as well as possible, time dedicated to the project.

Outstanding: A

The project was continued until it was as complete to the best of the student's ability. Demonstrates pride in going well beyond the minimum.
Above average: B

Student worked hard and completed the project, but with a little more effort it might have been outstanding.
Average: C

Student finished the project, but it could have been improved with more effort. Chose an easy "finish" to the project.
Below average: D

Student completed project with minimum effort.
Craftsmanship/ Skill

Neatness, precision, care. Correct use of materials and tools.

Outstanding: A

Design and coloring is neat and done with care. The work reflects the care and patience that went into making it. Excellent use of materials.
Above average: B

With a little more effort, the work could have been outstanding; lacks the finishing craftsmanship and neatness. Good use of materials.
Average: C

Student showed average care with work; adequate, but not as good as it could have been; a bit careless. OK use of materials.
Below average: D

Student showed below-average care with work; lack of pride in finished work. Misuse of materials.
