Attend Attend to the person/object/event that is the focus of a discussion.	Level 1 Attends to the person/object/event that is the focus of a discussion for 1 appropriate turn.	Level 2 Attends to the person/object/event that is the focus of a discussion for 2 appropriate turns.	Level 3 Attends to the person/object/event that is the focus of a discussion for 3 appropriate turns.	Level 4 Attends to the person/object/event that is the focus of a discussion for 4 appropriate turns.
Particpate Participate in a discussion of a topic that a conversation partner chooses for 3-4 appropriate turns.	Level 1 Student is able to use a rational, acceptable emotional response to a problem situation with constant prompting and cues (more than 5 prompts)	Level 2 Student is able to use a rational, acceptable emotional response to a problem situation with moderate prompting and cues (4-5 prompts)	Level 3 Participate in a discussion of a topic that a conversation partner chooses for 3 appropriate turns	Level 4 Student is able to use a rational, acceptable emotional response to a problem situation with no more prompts and cues than a typical student (0-1 prompts)
