Effectiveness of Material

A line of regression will be drawn from data points taken 10 cm above hot plate. The slope measured against it weight per sq cm will give final value.

Poor

It is not a good insulator and it is three times as heavy compared to regular insulation. R-13 insulation weights 7 grams/square cm.
Fair

It is a good insulator but is is twice as heavy compared to regular insulation. R-13 insulation weights 7 grams/square cm.
Good

It is a good insulator and it is less than twice as heavy compared to regular insulation. R-13 insulation weights 7 grams/square cm.
Excellent

It is a good insulator and it is less than 1.5 times as heavy compared to regular insulation. R-13 insulation weights 7 grams/square cm.
Not completed

no material was found
Model

you are going to build a model demonstrating your insulation.

Poor

The model was very poorly constructed and it was completed late
Fair

It was completed on time, but was poorly constructed and was falling apart, or it did not adequately show the insulation that was used.
Good

The model was well constructed, but was either not neat or was difficult to see the insulation that was used.
Excellent

It was a very neat and well constructed model what did a very good job of showing the insulation used.
Not completed

no model was constructed
Presentaation

You must present your product in an attractive and effective manner.

Poor

The presentation was very poorly done and it was completed late
Fair

It was completed on time, but was poorly done and was unimaginative, or it did not adequately show how the insulation was tested.
Good

The Presentation was well done, but was either not creative or was difficult to understand method that was used to test the insulation.
Excellent

The Presentation was well done, creative and it showed method that was used to test the insulation.
Not completed

no presentation was made.
Group effectiveness

How effectively did the group work together. This criterion will be conglomeration of the reports and direct observation.

Poor

The group was observed falling to work together for the majority of the assigned time in class. Or their scores were low every day.
Fair

The group worked for about half time.
Good

The group stayed on task for the majority of the week, but it took urging from the leader and the teacher.
Excellent

The group stayed on task for the majority of the assigned week with minimal urging from the leader
Not completed

The group did not work together well at all or did not stay on task.
Information

The group must know the three types of heat conduction and identify in the presentation which type they are insulating against.

Poor

The group average was between 70 - 75
Fair

The group average was between 75 - 85
Good

The group average was between 85 - 95
Excellent

The group average was between 95 - 100
Not completed

The group average for the quiz over the information was less than 70
