Preparation	Excellent It is obvious that practice has gone into the performance. There are essentially no errors. Very little, if any, additional practice needs to be done to make this ready for the actual show.	Good It is obvious that practice has gone into the performance. There are some errors; however, and additional practice needs to be done to make this ready for the actual show.	Fair Parts of the act were forgotten. It would take substantial changes to make this act stage worthy.	Poor There was no practice or preparation that went into this act.	Total
Stage Presence	Excellent The performer is poised and confident. The performer is serious and desirous of performing in front of an audience.	Good Performer has moments of confidence. It is clear that the performer is serious about auditioning and there is potential and talent to be shared. If the student is willing to attend practices after school, it will boost confidence and student could be ready.	Fair Performer has moments of confidence. It is clear that the performer is serious about auditioning and there may be potential and talent to be shared; however, the performer is clearly not confident and this makes the performance awkward to watch.	Poor Performer does not have a serious enough attitude.	Total
Use of Stage	Excellent The performer uses the stage well through movement or choreography. Very little, if any, coaching needs to be done regarding movement. OR stage movement is not applicable to this performance (i.e. plays the cello)	Good The performer doesn't use the stage well through movement or choreography. Coaching would need to be done to make this performance-worthy.	Fair The performer doesn't use the stage well through movement or choreography. Extensive coaching would need to be done, so there must be overwhelming merit, otherwise, to this performance to justify the coaching. Appeal to audience	Excellent Performance is energized and exciting! Middle school students would really like this act.	Good Middle school students would really like this performance regardless of the energy level. Costuming	Excellent The student auditions in the costume or provides a VERY clear indication of what is will consist of. There are no costuming challenges.
