Utopian Government Project 
You are going to create your own government! You will write/create your own government purpose statement (i.e. the Preamble). You will then create a list of 10 rights for your people (i.e. the Bill of Rights). You will then write a persuasive speech to your citizens about why they should support your new government. You will the compare your government to The Lord of the Flies movie.

Speech is exceptionally written, thoughts are well organized, and persuasive in nature. Student explains main points of their government. Student have speech memorized, and did not need note cards. Obvious that time and effort was put in. Within time frame.

Speech is organized and persuasive in nature. Student shows good understanding of how to use persuasion in their speech. Majority of their main government points were included Work is done with fair effort but not what the learner is capable of. Had majority of speech memorized but did need note cards. Fairly close on time.
Fair

Speech is persuasive but student shows limited knowledge of how to persuade their audience. Work was rushed and little effort was put in. Not to the standard the learner is capable of. Student relied mainly on note cards. Speech does not meet time requirements.
Poor

Speech is not persuasive and student displays no knowledge of persuasion. Little effort and quality is not what the learner is capable of. Too short on time, student read off of cards. Speech does not meet time requirements.
