Class Participation
	Exemplary 9/10 10 pts	Proficient 8 8 pts	Approaching 7 7 pts	Developing 5/6 or no points 6 pts
ATTENDANCE	Exemplary 9/10 Student is always IN CLASS and on time	Proficient 8 Student is absent one time and/or may be more than 15 minutes late one time	Approaching 7 Student is absent two times and/or is more than 15 minutes late two or three times	Developing 5/6 Student has two absences and has been late numerous times
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR	Exemplary 9/10 Student often asks questions, participates in pair/group discussions enthusiastically, but doesn't dominate discussion	Proficient 8 Student sometimes asks questions, and participates in pair/group discussions. could dominate sometimes	Approaching 7 Student rarely participates in class, struggles with pair/group discussions.	Developing 5/6 Student never participates in class, does not participate in pair/group discussions.
FOCUS	Exemplary 9/10 student is not distracted by technology and is completely focused on class topics	Proficient 8 student may get distracted by technology a few times but mainly focused and on task	Approaching 7 student is distracted and starts to distract others with lack of focus	Developing 5/6 student regularly is not paying attention to class topics and is off doing other tasks
ATTITUDE	Exemplary 9/10 student exhibits a consistent, positive attitude and connects well with peers	Proficient 8 student regularly exhibits a positive attitude and connects well with most peers	Approaching 7 attitude varies by the day; negativity could impact others	Developing 5/6 negative attitude and critical of curriculum and/or peers
