	Poor 0 pts	Fair 3 pts	Good 6 pts	Average 8 pts	Above Average 10 pts
Creativity/Effort	Poor The student did the minimum or the artwork was never completed.	Fair The assignment was completed and turned in, but showed little evidence of any understanding of the elements and principles of art; no evidence of planning.	Good The student did the assignment adequately, yet it shows lack of planning and little evidence that an overall composition was planned.	Average The artwork shows that the student took their time and understood the assignment.	Above Average This student planned carefully and did beyond what was asked of him or her.
Understanding/Application	Poor The student did the minimum or the project was never completed.	Fair The assignment was completed and turned in, but showed little evidence of any understanding of the concepts or how to apply them.	Good The assignment was completed and turned in and showed some knowledge of the terms but did not know how to apply them.	Average Student apply all art concepts, especially those stressed for the project. Student solved problems by themselves.	Above Average Student applied all the art concepts and understood them, Student also went above and beyond what was asked of him or her.
Presentation	Poor Presented information which was poorly organized, hard to understand.	Fair Presented information which was poorly organized or was difficult to understand some of the time.	Good Presented most of the information in a clear and organized way.	Average Presented all information in a clear and organized way.	Above Average Presented all information in an organized at and also brought something extra to present, like a visual.
Use of materials	Poor Student used tools and materials inappropriately and foolishly.	Fair Student needed a lot of reminding on proper use of materials.	Good Student needed some reminding on proper use of materials.	Average Student used the materials appropriately with little reminding.	Above Average Student used the materials appropriately with no reminding.
