Chicken Bone and Coke Experiment Conducting an Experiment Students are to perform an experiment in a group/by themselves which will be conducted in class. Procedure	Excellent Steps of the experiment are clearly stated so that another person can perform the experiment. The steps follow the scientific method.	Good Steps of the experiment are stated but minor details are missing so that another person would have trouble performing the experiment. Steps follow the scientific method.	Fair Steps of the experiment are unclear or missing so that another person would not be able to perform the experiment. It is unclear if the steps are following the scientific method.	Poor Steps of the experiment are not included. Steps do not follow scientific method.
Conclusion	Excellent Clear and concise conclusions are given. Conclusion addresses problem and states knowledge gained. Conclusion and hypothesis are plainly connected.	Good Conclusions are present and complete, knowledge gained is present, but not clear and concise. Hypothesis and conclusion are plainly connected.	Fair Missing some parts of conclusion or knowledge gained. Connection between conclusion and hypothesis is not entirely clear.	Poor Missing conclusion completely, or conclusion and hypothesis are not connected.
Presentation	Excellent Student presents all elements of experimental design so that it is exact, specific, and detailed. Student goes above and beyond expectations.	Good Student presents all elements of experimental design.	Fair Student presents most elements of experimental design and is missing components that make presentation exact, specific, and detailed.	Poor Student presentation is missing most elements of experimental design. Detail is also lacking.
Work Ethic	Excellent The student was working and contributing to the group during the experiment and presentation.	Good The student was working and contributing to the group during most of the time provided for the experiment.	Fair The student needs to be more focused on the experiment and working with the group.	Poor Student did not contribute to the group.
