State Report Presentation State Report Presentation All students will be required to make a report to the class which will reflect the research they have done and the information they have gathered on a state of the United States. ORAL REPORT: Completeness	Below Average 4 or fewer components of the oral report are mentioned.	Average No more than 6 of the required components of the report are mentioned in the oral report.	Outstanding All the following components of the report are in the report packet and are mentioned in the oral report: State Name, State Nickname, The state Capital, 3 other cities, 1 Place of interest, 1 historical facts, 2 famous people, 1 industry and, 1 thing unique about the state.
Accuracy of Information	Below Average Three or more factual mistakes are presented in the oral report.	Average One or two bits of infomation are incorrect or unclear.	Outstanding All information given in the report is accurate.
Pronunciation and Projection	Below Average Pronunciation errors make the speech very difficult to uderstand.	Average Fewer than two pronunciation errors occur or speech is difficult to hear or understand.	Outstanding All spoken English is clearly spoken and properly pronounced.
Posture and Eye Contact	Below Average Slouches and/or does not look at people during the presentation.	Average Sometimes stands up straight and establishes eye contact.	Outstanding Stands up straight and establishes eye contact with everyone in the room during the presentation.
Preparedness	Below Average Student does not seem at all prepared to present.	Average The student is somewhat prepared, but it is clear that rehearsal was lacking.	Outstanding Student is completely prepared and has obviously rehearsed.
Written Grammar and Spelling	Below Average Three or more grammatical or spelling mistakes are included in the written report.	Average One or two written mistakes are included in the report.	Outstanding All aspects of the written report are spelled correctly and all grammar conventions are followed accurately.
Neatness and Clarity	Below Average Three or more errors or unclarities appear in the map or on the poster.	Average One or two parts of the map or poster are messy or unclear.	Outstanding The map and all other parts of the poster are neat and clear.
