Health Article Summary and Opinion
Find a current music-related article from a reliable source, at least 100 words in length. Print a copy if the source was online. Write a 1 page summary on the article. You should end your summary by writing at least one paragraph giving your personal thoughts about the information in the article and how it relates to what we are learning in class. Your summary should be typed and attached to the article. You will give a brief presentation to the class. This assignment is worth 24 points.

One Page Paper
Excellent
The summary exceeded the stated requirements. All relevant information was listed and elaborated upon. The student was able to make connections between the information in the article and one or more dimensions of music. S/he was able to draw personal conclusions and relate the information to the class. 10 points
Good
The paper was a full page written with facts and the student's opinion about the topic. Student demonstrated a fairly good grasp of how the information related to the class. 8 points.
Fair
The summary recalled some information, but omitted several vital points. The personal response to the article did not fully relate the information to the class. 6 points
Poor
The summary was inadequate and too brief. Most of the W,W,W,W, H, W information was left out or incomplete. Personal reaction to the article was missing. 4 points

The article chosen is intellectual in nature and came from a reliable source. The source, author and date of the article were cited. The article was current and attached to the summary. 10 points
Good
The article chosen is somewhat intellectual in and came from a reliable source. The information appeared to be recent, however, the date and/or author were not cited. 8 points
Fair
The article is not intellectual in nature. There was a source cited but the validity of the source was questionable. The date and author were not given. Article was not attached to the summary. 6 points
Poor
There was no source cited within the paper.
