Level 3 Rewrites the ending of the story in an interesting way. Can retell the majority of the structure of the story. Uses combination details and general descriptions.	Level 2 Rewrites the ending of the story. Can only describe certain parts of how the story is structured. No details, only general descriptions	Level 1 Does not rewrite the ending of the story. Cannot describe the parts of how a story is structured.
Characters	Level 4 Named all of the characters.	Level 3 Named some of the chracters.	Level 2 Named a few of the characters.	Level 1 Did not name any of the characters
Setting/Conflict	Level 4 Described the setting: when and where the story took place. Identifies Conflict or conflicts in story.	Level 3 Described part of setting: when or where the story took place.
