Introduction	Advanced There is a clear beginning that gives - setting - characters Your readers can picture a scene before any events take place	Proficient The writer's introduction is not very clear. There is a mention of characters and setting but it is hard to follow	Basic The is somewhat of an introduction including one of the two elements of setting and characters	Below Basic There is no introduction. The writer heads right for the action
structure	Advanced The writer has followed the Plot/Story Diagram for structure. The writing shows all the elements of a story: Plot, Conflict, Climax, and Resolution	Proficient The writing has good structure, but the writer may have left out one or two of the elements of a story.	Basic The writing has good structure, but the writer may have left out MANY of the elements of a story.	Below Basic The writing has poor structure, and the writer may have left out MANY or ALL of the elements of a story.
Conclusion	Advanced The conclusion is strong, and shows a resolution of the Narrative's conflict.	Proficient The conclusion is weak, but it still shows resolution of the story's conflict.	Basic The conclusion is weak, and does NOT resolve the story's conflict to the reader's satisfaction.	Below Basic no conclusion.
Interjections	Advanced The writer uses at least two interjections in the narrative writing and has circled them.	Proficient The writer uses at least two interjections in the narrative writing but did not circle them, or the writer uses one interjection and circled it.	Basic The writer uses one interjection in the story but does not circle it.	Below Basic The writer did not use interjections in the narrative writing.
Action Map	Advanced Action map is detailed, finished and included with the narrative writing.	Proficient Action map is mostly completed and included with the narrative writing.	Basic Action map is somewhat completed and included with the narrative writing.	Below Basic Action map is not included with the narrative writing piece.
