8 painted techniques	Fair Not all techniques were used correctly within the painting. Less than five techniques were applied to the painting.	Good Not all techniques were used correctly within the painting. Only 5-7 techniques were applied to the painting.	Excellent All 8 techniques were used correctly within the painting.
8 extra painted boxes	Fair Not all boxes were painted with watercolor.	Good Flat wash was only used for the extra 8 painted boxes. The work could have included extra techniques.	Excellent Extra techniques were carefully applied to the painting to enhance the overall work. The student creatively incorporated watercolor to the other boxes.
still life drawing	Fair Some details of the still life drawing are missing in the final painting.	Good The still life drawing is nice and includes all parts, but some extra time and detail could have made the drawing excellent.	Excellent The painting includes a nicely drawn detailed still life of the bowl and flowers placed on each students desk. Much time and planning was applied to the drawing.
Watercolor paint	Fair Watercolor looks messy and applied quickly. Many parts of the white watercolor paper are showing.	Good Most of the painting was completed with the watercolor. Although some small parts of white paper are showing along the edges or in small areas.	Excellent The paint was applied carefully and creatively to the finished project. All parts of the painting are done and no white areas show.
Craftsmanship/directions	Fair Painting was turned in folded, messy, and not fully completed.	Good The painting is finished but there are a few holes of folds in the paper.	Excellent The overall painting is neatly finished. The student followed all directions.
