Class Participation Grade Criteria
Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be evaluated. All students are expected to participate in class! Students should understand that their participation mark begins at 0 and then is built up through active participation. Students DO NOT automatically recieve a perfect participation mark at the beginning of the term and then "lose points" through non-participation.

Students will use digital media resources, internet sites, and books to create a newsletter that highlights an social/political issue in America today. This lesson is part of a group project on the impact that the mass media has on public opinion.

Your Personality Profile Poster and Presentation Rubric
For this project you will create a poster of your individual personality dynamics. You will use your poster as a presentation board for an in-class presentation. The board will be required to have four basic parts: a title at the top with your name and personality type; and three sections titled “Who am I?”, “What Should I do?”, and “What kind of leader will I be”. You will be expected to give a brief synopsis of your personality type and they choices presented on your board.

Evaluating Role & Impact of Media On Presidential Elections
Student will create an essay documenting their perceptions of media influence on national election outcomes, i.e. identify specific media event(s), via research, that effected voter choice; evaluate validity of media issues addressed; develop rationale for opinions expressed; answer questions discussed regarding the existence of media bias; demonstrate understanding of topic and propose remedy if needed; provide logical conclusion with supporting documentation for proposed thesis/arguments.

Healthy Eating: 2 week Meal Plan

Meal Plan
Create a meal plan for the school week - 3 meals a day for 4 days, including snacks. Meals should consider food groups and nutrients (see reverse-Healthy Meal Plate). Plan should be organized by day, and each day organized by meal. A grocery list should be included with all the necessary items required. Spices/seasonings are not required. Remember that some items purchased can be used for more than one meal. Project should be neatly typed.
