The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Bullying/"Look At Me, I'm Drug Free"/Anti-Smoking. Students will provide bullying scenarios and demonstrate bullying mediation techniques in a creative and colorful poster/pictures or scenarios displaying a "Drug Free" individual/pictures or scenarios following a anti-smoking theme. The poster will be designed on poster board (1/2 or full-sized poster board).

Create a creative piece to go along with your pearl essay. You must answer one of the essential questions: How are humans affected by greed?; How can desire for wealth or sudden wealth affect a person's life?; How do people treat others whom they believe are inferior?; The pearl is a symbol, though its meaning to Kino changes over time. What does the pearl represent to Kino at different points in the story?

This rubric marks the level of attention of students. Are they on task?

In this essay, you will which you analyze the poem’s literary elements (parts of the poem and figures of speech) and use this analysis to interpret the meaning of this poem. In other words, what is the poem saying and what literary elements does the author use to demonstrate this message?
