After listening and discussing an excerpt from the “I Have a Dream” speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., •Students were asked to write about their personal dreams about how people can cooperate and get along in the future by using prior knowledge, readings and details from the “I Have a Dream” speech. •Students will use the “I Have a Dream” speech excerpt as a guide to write their own personal narrative.

Students were asked to write their First names (using at least 5 different letters) and mark, measure and identify all angles. They were to be creative and make their project colorful. They then were asked to write a summary of what they did.

Students will use blue and yellow paint to create two different moods.

The 5th grade Students of class 503 were asked to think about their good qualities and achievements that make them academic superheroes. They were then asked to complete the superhero poster reflecting on their qualities.

Students made and tested two different objects applying what they have learned about force and motion.

Students are required to write a letter to a government official (President of the US, Senator, or some other government official). The letter will present a problem in their community that they want changed. CCLS W.4.2

An essay on why Earth Day is important.

Create a diagram of the water cycle and then write an essay describing the components of the water cycle and why it is important.

The 2nd grade student will write an All About Me writing piece about themselves. They must include: 5 basic facts about themselves (ie - birthday, number of siblings, where they were born); 5 of their hobbies and/or dislikes; They must include 3 drawn pictures of themselves depicting any of the things discussed in their writing (ie - a picture of themselves playing their favorite sport, a picture of themselves celebrating a holiday with their family, etc.)

CCSS.Math.Content.1.OA.A.1 Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
