ICR MEC-180-H1 Engineering Materials - Applies to Student Learning Outcome 10 - Score essay responses to capstone comprehensive examination. Rules: If appropriate to the task, all essay parts of the question will be scored in all four criteria. Accuracy, reasoning and problem solving will be summed over the number of essay question parts. Each Student had to prepare 20 discussion questions for this seminar. We are doing this seminar in a "fishbowl" where students watch 4-6 students discuss a question that they draw from a group of collected questions. Students are expected to have quotes and passages ready to use in their class discussion.

The rubric assesses an high school level debate about tobacco. It includes the oral debate, written notes on the debate, and written paper stating the student's opinion supported by facts.

Each student was to create a Prezi presentation on a certain school appropriate topic of their choice. This presentation must be professional, creative, engaging to the rest of the class, and address the assigned content.

This rubric is designed to assess the presentation of the group activity. The rubric should consider the performance of the group as a whole, as well as individual contributions.

The students will be graded on a two-page reaction papers written in response to the reading(s) after each unit. See syllabus for guidelines.

The purpose of a Socratic Seminar is to achieve a deeper understanding about the ideas and values in a text. In a Seminar, participants systematically question and examine issues and principles related to a particular content, and articulat different points-of-view. The group conversation assists participants in constructing meaning through disciplined analysis, interpretation, listening, and participation.
