Crops can be classified in many different ways. You are to chose at least 8 different categories. Define the category, provide photos and names of at least 3 crops in that category.

Each of you will select a different agronomic crop to create a growers manual about that crop. You will then use the information you learned about the crop to teach a micro unit about the crop to your classmates (5 slides & a poster).

You will be modeling a fish species found in Minnesota. You will make a 3-D model from clay to scale (50% size) of your fish. You will then make a slideshow including- diet, predation (who are its prey), reproduction, where it can be found, preferable habitat, how the DNR manages for the species, fishing regulations, state record and 20 additional facts about it. The slideshow must include a slide citing the sources of information.

A rubric that properly evaluates the design and construction process. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project and the finished product.

Rubric for Mechanical Arts

Students will demonstrate mastery of all elements of floral design by creating a round arrangement. You are to fill the bowl with foam, followed by greenery covering the entire foam, then flowers (you get 6-8 flowers to use), then use filler flower and accessories to finish out the arrangement.

Research a component of mechanical arts and describe its history, linking it to its Native American roots. This portion of the project is to write a paper. The second portion of the project will be to construct a 3D representation of the Native American Art.

Students will create a google slideshow on the elements and principle of design discussed in class. They are to explain and use examples in mechanical arts.

Color Wheel -After learning about the color wheel. Students will create an original color wheel on a pine cut out using stains.

Create a poster with a photo representing each of the following color schemes. Include a description of why it fits that color scheme. ie: Photo of floral arrangements in reds, underneath write Monochromatic-This arrangement is monochromatic because the flowers are all tints and shades of red.

Scenario: Plan the flowers for a wedding utilizing the internet or magazines. Select the theme, style and type of flowers needed. Select and plan all floral pieces needed for the wedding and reception.

All students will be required to make a visual display that reflects the research they have done and the information they have gathered on a state of the United States.

Students will present a powerpoint on their assigned element or principle of design

Students will be asked to identify all the elements of art and principles of design and/or demonstrate examples. In this assessment students will work on demonstrating the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design.
