Black and White Compostion Assignment Print-

There are different types of photographic portraits. Traditional portraits are usually head and shoulder shots with the subject smiling into the camera. Personality portraits dig a little deeper into the soul of your subject and reveal the character of the person. The background or foreground may or may not be an important aspect of the image. Lastly, environmental portraits reveal the subject’s profession, vocation, hobby or passion.

The student will create a relief printmaking block using linoleum or wood blocks. They will print the block in an edition of 10.

A sculpture of your own head and hand made out of plaster. The sculpture is turned into an art piece.

Critique of classmate's photography work

You need to design a cover for your Me Magazine. Your magazine cover should be based off of an existing magazine, for example use the layout and name of Teen magazine, but design your own photos, titles and story lines. The story lines are to be about you and can be fictional or real. Your name must appear in one of the titles.

Value Composition in Graphite Composition demonstrates students ability to create an Illusion of volume/form using the element of Art:Value/ principle of composition. Composition uses all shapes/forms studied that overlap; value is added to the contour drawing using one or more of the methods taught in class (value scale only)Composition shows at least 3-4 values of shading and includes the 5 Principles of Shading: highlight, shade, shadow, reflected light and backshading.
