We are to have God as central in our lives and we are to live a principled life (7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens). Create a top 10 principles/virtues poster. Back up each principle/virtue with Scripture. You will be presenting your poster and then posting them in the classroom. Make sure you can justify your top 10. Consider: Are all the principles/virtues equal or is it a legitimate top 10?

Choose the tune of an existing song/rap or create your own. Include a copy of your lyrics about the 8 parts of speech. Your lyrics must accurately explain the parts of speech and include examples of each. Be creative and memorable!

This is a rubric (a means for how you are being marked) for a poem about student identity. Remember, identity is primarily influenced by the land you live in, the people you live with, (historical) events, and culture (beliefs, values, art, literature, etc.).

Students will create Word Art by choosing a symbol/ key word that represents Canada and then filling it in with relevant words expressing their personal connection to the land/Canada. Outcome DR8.1: Develop an understanding of the significance of the land on the evolution of Canadian identity.

(1) Choose one vocabulary word from your list (Academic Language-Conformity, Individualism etc…) (2) Write the word somewhere on the page with large letters and creatively written with shape. (3) Draw a detailed image demonstrating the meaning of the chosen word-real world example (4) Draw a second detailed image demonstrating a part of the novel (that we have read so far) that shows the meaning of this word.

Using the information you have learned about treaties in Canada, why do you feel that all people living in Canada are "treaty people"? You may choose to use a variety of mediums to express your understanding of our guiding question. For example: - Writing: journal entry, an essay, a poem or a story - Visual Art: collage, painting, sculpture - Tech Based: record a video, cartoon, podcast - Music: write a song with accompanying music You will present your work to the class.
