Mrs. Renison's Science Class

Students will research a dinosaur and create a paper mache dinosaur that will be presented.

This rubric will be used to evaluate your paper mache' project. This project is worth 800 points.

Students will work with a partner to build a "Nifty Lifting Machine" of their own. The students will build a simple machine and be able to demonstrate how to change velocity and acceleration and the relationship between them. Students should also discuss in the effects of gravity and friction of the simple machine.

The students will work on a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to four Bible readings. Students will provide information on their assigned section in a creative and colorful poster. The poster will be designed on "big paper" in 4 square format.

Understanding the Characteristics and Needs of Living Things

Design a Cereal Box Scientist: must show a title for the biography of the scientist's great discovery. Using 3 or more sources, create a model of your scientist and list 10 interesting facts about them. Don't forget to talk about the most important achievements (what did they contribute to society and how has it impacted the world, scientific progress and your life).

Students will create a watercolor that depicts a scene from the Symphony Orchestra field trip

Each student will pick one Saint and either dress up as their Saint. Students will research their person and act like that person during their in class presentation.

Create a board game that reflects your knowledge of the Religion chapters we have completed. You should include the SLE's. You must create a rules page that describes how to play and each detail of the game. You must include higher level thinking questions. The game board must be on the provided "big paper". Questions must be printed by hand. You must turn in your game board on Friday. Final project will be played and presented on the day of the final.

Student will enlarge a small photo of their favorite cartoon character using the grid method. Portrait will be in chalk on the asphalt.

Creating and Presenting: apply the creative process to dramatic play and musical drama, using the elements and conventions of drama to communicate feelings, ideas, and stories.

Students must write an informative monologue and perform it from memory. The monologue must be about their seleceted president. Historical accuracy is required.
