Creativity	Poor Design lacks creativity or student simply copied another student or art sample.	Developing Student is beginning to develop and apply own ideas.	Good Students develop their own ideas, but not something that is new or unique compared to examples that are shown.	Excellent Student went above and beyond coming up with their own unique ideas and applying them to the style.
Craftsmanship	Poor Student lacks accountability for what art work they turn in. Does not listen to feedback or encouragement. Students say "I can't"	Developing Student does not check for small details that could be fixed or clean up mistakes.	Good Student is beginning to demonstrate a growth mindset and attempts good craftsmanship. Student uses class time to ensure their artwork looks good.	Excellent Student demonstrates a growth mindset: takes their time to check for small details and completes work to the best of their ability.
Use of Space	Poor Student did not use negative space around their project.	Developing Student used the negative space around their artwork but didn't to plan a design of their work.	Good Student had a good use of negative and positive space, and added their own designs that resembled the assignment.	Excellent Student has a great sense of design of how to use negative and positive space and make the use of space relate to their animal design.
Application of content	Poor Student does not understand content	Developing Student has some grasp of the content and we see some evidence of u-shapes, trigons, crescents, ovoids, etc...	Good Student understand the content and we see evidence of u-shapes, trigons, crescents, ovoids, etc...	Excellent Student fully understands the content studied and applied understanding.
