Attitude	Poor Student displays a poor attitude during class.	Fair Student displays a reasonable attitude during class.	Good Student displays a good attitude during class	Excellent Student shows excellent attitude and behavior during the class. Shows maturity and discipline beyond their years.
Knowledge	Poor Student does not retain knowledge of class	Fair Student retains some knowledge of class (eg history, genres, composers)	Good Student retains knowledge of class.	Excellent Student retains all aspects of the class and shows examples of insight and connections to future classes
Preperation	Poor Student is late to class and is unprepared for lesson.	Fair Student is on time with his or her instrument, and music ready to play.	Good Student is on time with his or her instrument, pencil, and music ready to play.	Excellent Student is on time or early to class and has his or her instrument, pencil and music ready to play.
Participation	Poor Student does not answer or ask questions during class. Students does not perform his or her individual part on their instrument.	Fair Student performs his or her individual part on their instrument.	Good Student participates in class through answering and asking questions, giving input, and performing his or her individual part on their instrument.	Excellent Student participates in class through answering and asking questions, giving input, and showing excellence on his or her individual part on their instrument.
