French II - Restaurant Skit
French II - Impromptu Restaurant Skit
In groups of 2-3, students will do a skit that takes place in a restaurant in a French speaking country. Students will be provided with a menu and props. Students will greet each other. One student will be the server and the other(s) the client(s). One drink and a three-course meal must be ordered. There must also be a problem that arises. The bill must be mentioned.

Utilizes vocabulary redundantly. Phrases are never more than two words.
Manque d'effort
Utilizes limited vocabulary, some of which is inaccurate or irrelevant to the task. Phrases are made up of one word.
Pronunciation
Excellent
Student has clear and distinct pronunciation. The audience can hear you. The student attempts authentic pronunciation. Speech shows natural expression and animation.
Bien
Good French pronunciation, but a few words are mispronounced due to English interference. Natural expression attempted. You need to speak louder.
Faible
Several French words are mispronounced. People not used to hearing foreigners would question your intent. Your pronunciation needs more effort and practice.
The audience cannot hear you.

Your pronunciation is incorrect. I'm not sure what you are saying. You are not communicating with words. The audience cannot hear you.
Fluency
Excellent
The student speaks naturally and confidently due to his or her preparation and knowledge of vocabulary. The student self corrects when necessary.

The student speaks well but with some minor hesitation. The student shows a good command of the vocabulary and language structure.
Faible
The student hesitates too often or cannot find the words to make the skit flow.
Manque d'effort
The student has long awkward pauses in his or her speech and cannot interpret his or her role in the skit. S/he is unprepared.
Grammar accuracy
Excellent
The student consistently uses the correct word choice.

The student has some grammar inconsistencies that do not inhibit comprehension.

The student participated but did not attempt to add any personality to the scene.

The student's presence did not add to the advancement of the scene.
