Unit Goals: 1) To gain an understanding of the use of distortion to create meaning in artworks. 2) To develop skills in drawing a distorted character. 3) To develop appreciation for the artwork of Tim Burton.

Criteria: Students are able to explain the use of distortion to create meaning through class discussion.	Excellent Excellent understanding. Student was able to show clearly the use of distortion to create meaning.	Good General understanding. Student was able to generally show the use of distortion to create meaning.	Acceptable Some understanding. Student was able to show little use of distortion to create meaning.	Unacceptable No understanding. Student was not able to show the use of distortion to create meaning.
Criteria: Students are able manipulate a character to create distortion.	Excellent Superior execution. Student was able to create an original self-work that successfully shows distortion.	Good Strong execution. Student was able to create an original self-work that shows distortion with few errors.	Acceptable Decent execution. Student was able to create an original self-work that shows some distortion with errors.	Unacceptable Failure to execute. Student was unable to create an original self-work that showed meaningful of distortion.
