Has not yet begun to develop an agency mission statement.

In the process of developing an agency mission statement and is considering the following:
1-Who are we?
2-What are the basic social/political needs we exist to address?
3-What do we need to do to deal with these issues?
4-How do we respond to key stakeholders?
5-What is our philosophy, values and culture?
6-What makes us unique?

A mission statement has been developed and implemented as evidenced by the following:
1-Highly visible to all: posters, letterhead, webpage, etc...
2-Staff awareness of the mission statement

Have not begun to develop specific strategies to accomplish each agency goal.

Specific strategies are being developed which consider:
1-Admistrative feasibility
2-Politically acceptable to stakeholders
3-Fit with agency values
4-Is it ethical, moral and legal
5-Does it create public value
6-Does it address the goal it was designed to
7-Uses either the mapping process or the five-part approach based on work of Institute of Cultural Affairs.

Specific strategies have been developed in writing and communicated to all key parties.

No monitor and/or updates have been undertaken yet.

Agency is involved in monitoring their strategic plan and is considering revisions based on this. This may involved a rehash of previous steps involved in the strategic planning process as new information is discovered.

Revisions to agencies strategic plan are implemented.
