The Crisis of the Union Timeline Rubric
Through synthesis, analysis and interpretation, of the legislation and events that impacted the Cold War, students will have a better visual of how one thing leads to another, as well as how history is a series of dominoes that fall from one event to another.

Facts are accurate for less than 75% of the events and/or some major details are excluded
Novice
More than 20% of facts are inaccurate and/or major details are excluded for events reported on the timeline.
Chronological Order
Distinguished
All events are placed in proper chronological order.
Proficient
Most events/acts are placed in proper chronological order.
Intermediate
50% or fewer events are placed in incorrect chronological order.
Novice
Fewer that 75% of the events/acts are placed in proper chronological order.
Communication Skills
Distinguished
Answers are written in formal English, no more than two errors in usage, spelling or sentence structure. Capitalization and punctuation are correct throughout the presentation. There are no grammatical errors.
Proficient
Answers are written using formal English, no more than three errors in usage, spelling or sentence structure.
Intermediate
Answers are written using informal language (i.e. contractions or slang). Four or more errors in usage, spelling or sentence structure.
Novice
Answers are written in non-standard English (i.e. text language). Major sentence structure errors (i.e. sentence fragments). There are more than 6 grammatical errors on the presentation.
Mechanics
Distinguished
There are no mechanical errors for the presentation and the presentation was shared correctly.
Proficient
There are no mechanical errors on the presentation but the presentation was not shared correctly.
Intermediate
There are a few mechanical errors on the presentation but the presentation was shared correctly.
Novice
There are a few mechanical errors on the presentation and the presentation was shared correctly. This could also include students not sharing the project by the date given by the instructor in the "Feedback" section of the online comments on the project module.
