Shoot Basketball

Developing (Level 1)

- Student can rarely shoot the ball successfully.
- Student does not follow through.
- Student often uses only one hand to shoot.
Fair (Level 2)

- Student can sometimes shoot the ball successfully.
- Student sometimes follows through.
- Student uses two hands instead of one to shoot.
Good (Level 3)

- Student shoots the ball correctly.
- Student follows through.
- Student is usually successful in shooting.
Excellent (Level 4)

- Shoots the ball off the dribble.
- Has good rhythm.
- Can catch and shoot
- Good mid-range.
- Is usually successful under pressure situations.
Dribble Basketball

Developing (Level 1)

- Student can rarely dribble the basketball while moving.
- Does not have good control.
- Cannot dribble with head.
- Doesn't dribble with finger pads.
Fair (Level 2)

- Student can dribble the basketball while moving.
- Does not have good control.
- Cannot dribble with head up
- Sometimes dribbles with finger pads.
Good (Level 3)

- Student can dribble the basketball with good control and proper positioning.
- Student dribbles with head up.
- Student dribbles with finger pads, knees bent.
- Able to pivot while dribbling.
Excellent (Level 4)

- Is confident dribbling with preferred hand and attempts non-preferred in drills.
-Dribbles with head up.
- Shows above average ball-handling.
Defense

Developing (Level 1)

- Student rarely gets involved in defensive play.
- Rarely shows different defensive skills.
Fair (Level 2)

- Student sometimes gets involved in defensive play.
- Occasionally shows different defensive skills.
Good (Level 3)

- Understands defensive concepts.
- Jumps to the ball.
- Can help team mates and recover.
- Plays team zone defense and communicates with team.
Excellent (Level 4)

- Sees ball and applies pressure.
- Understands zone defence & need for team balance.
- Is consistently involved in the defensive aspect of the game.
Offense

Developing (Level 1)

- Has difficulty articulating where they should stand in an offensive strategy.
- Does not use voice to indicate they want the pass.
Fair (Level 2)

- Is able to articulate where they should stand in an offensive strategy.
- Can use voice to indicate they want the pass.
Good (Level 3)

- Knows and sets up an offensive play.
- Can pass and cut to a new position.
- Demonstrates awareness of rebalancing the team offensive.
- Communicates successfully with team members.
Excellent (Level 4)

- Student consistently seeks opportunity to pass and cut with awareness of timing and shooting opportunities.
- Is consistently aware of other team players and need to rebalance the offense.
- Communicates confidently and clearly with team members.

- Struggled to use their voice to react to the sporting situations around them.
- Unable to clearly speak in front of others in order to perform their role.

- Student sometimes communicated with the other students around them or the teacher.
- Able to use their voice to react to some of the sporting situations around them.
- Sometimes able to clearly speak in front of others in order to perform their role role.
Good (Level 3)

- Student usually communicated with the other students around them or the teacher.
- Able to use their voice to react to most of the sporting situations around them.
- Usually able to clearly speak in front of others in order to perform their role.
