Set Design Model 
Students read a given script to gather information about the set demands. Using this information, students design and create a 3D model of the set using a shoebox and art materials.

Presentation
50 pts

Is the design clean and crisp. Is it presentation ready. Has effort been made to create a clean product.

Excellent

All pieces are created using a mathematically correct scale. Model is created neatly with great attention to detail. It appears as though student spent an exceptional amount of time getting the assignment "just right".
Good

Relative scale is correct, may be no more than 1 piece with incorrect scale. Model is created neatly. It appears as though student spent a good deal of time completing the assignment on time.
Fair

Scale is off for 2 or 3 set pieces. Model is completed somewhat neatly. It appears as though the student rushed to complete the assignment OR the assignment was handed in late.
Needs Improvement

Scale is off for 4 or 5 set pieces. Model is completed messily. It appears as though the student ran out of time to complete the assignment. Assignment was handed in well after the due date.
Poor

Scale is different for every set piece. Model incomplete.
Detail and Design

Is the model a full design. Does it represent the needs of the entire production. Is there detail in the craftsmanship.

Excellent

All elements of the model are clean, detailed, and its evident that clear choices have been made in relation to color, dimmention, process, and technique. The final piece is show ready.
Good

Some focus on the detail and technique. Clear choice has been made, though not fully exicuted.
Fair

There is evidence of a detail process. The model is finished but does not demonstrate a strong focus on detail nor continuity of design.
Needs Improvement

The model appears disconnected. Little focus has been placed on creating a full design. The piece is rather unfinished.
Poor

Unfinished. Disconnected. The model does not have a common design thread. There is little to no execution of detail in the work. It is sloppy.
