Criteria	Exceeds Expectations Included the following in Spanish: greeting, your name, age, where you are from and who you live with. Describe those you live with, pets, weather in WV, your friends all based on what you have learned in class. You can ask formal questions.	Meets Expectations Included the following in the conversation Spanish (statements about yourself & ask related questions to a peer) your name, age, where you are from, who you live with and what you are like.	Needs Improvement Included some of the following in Spanish: Your name, age, where you are from, and can ask another person 1-2 questions out of 5.
Sentence type	Exceeds Expectations Used simple sentences and strings of sentences. The student created some sentences and questions on your own using what has been learned. You have incorporated weather, the date, greetings and goodbyes in your conversation. Student was able to ask questions in the formal and describe themselves/family/friends extensively.	Meets Expectations Used some simple sentences, memorized phrases and memorized questions learned in class.	Needs Improvement Used words, chunks of phrases or isolated words when talking about yourself and asking questions.
Pronunciation	Exceeds Expectations Pronunciation is mainly correct with very few errorsIt is obvious the student practiced pronunciation given in class notes.	Meets Expectations Pronunciation is almost all correct. There are some errors as expected in pronunciation. It is obvious the student practiced pronunciation given in class notes.	Needs Improvement Pronunciation might be difficult to understand and/or the student did not take the time to practice pronunciation in or outside of class.
