Class Behavioral Expectations
The purpose of this rubric is to describe appropriate classroom behaviors and enable students to understand that the same behaviors are expected in the workplace enviornment.

Homework
Exemplary
All homework assignments are completed on time and show that the student completed them to the best of his/her ability.
Acceptable
Completes all but 1 or 2 homework assignments, but does make an attempt to complete assignment.<BR>
Homework is submitted on time and is completed to the best of his/her ability.
Unacceptable
Homework is not completed when due, homework is not completed more than 2x, does not bring homework to class, homework is incomplete or of poor quality.
Controls emotions
Exemplary
Student has maintained consistent ability to make good choices to control his emotions. Has removed himself appropriately from class once per week or less. He removes himself to be able to calm himself from something that was bothering him in the classroom.
Acceptable
Student has not been able to maintain keeping his emotions under control and has left class inappropriately 1-2 times per week. Is choosing to leave as an escape from doing a task or assignment that he views as unpleasant.
Unacceptable
Student is not maintaining control of his emotional state and is acting out inappropriately with negative behaviors such as yelling, hitting, argueing, or walking out to escape dealing with a teacher request.
Respectfulness
Exemplary
Student is polite and respectful to classmates and instructor, does not interrupt when others are talking, uses appropriate language. No incidents during the week.
Acceptable
Listens while others are talking, attends to class activities, uses appropriate language but disagrees with peers or teacher and interrupts them or argues three or less times in a week.
Unacceptable
Student is distracting to others, ignores instructor, uses inappropriate language and/or behaviors such as: harassment, ridicule, interrupts others, threatens others, yells and makes a scene.
Constructive Criticism
Exemplary
Student is able to accept constructive criticism appropriately and with respect.
Acceptable
Student is hesitant to accept constructive criticism from instructor and/or peers.
Unacceptable
Student does not know how to appropriately accept constructive criticism and often argues with instructor.
Argumentative
(With the teacher)
Exemplary
Student did not enter into any arguments with the teacher during the week. Student kept silent even when he disagreed.
Acceptable
Student entered into an argument with the teacher when he didn't agree 1-2 times during the week. Is not controlling impulses in this area.
Unacceptable
Student entered into arguments at least 3 or more times during the week and is not showing self-restraint in this regard.
