Composition
EXCEEDS
Composition uses the rule of thirds. Each corner in the is unique. Candy is drawn where by they run off the page of section. Candy overlaps on all four sides. An open piece of candy is drawn in more than one place on the composition.
Test Sheet is used to make prejudgments on all color.
PROFICIENT
Composition uses the rule of thirds. Some of the corners are different. Some of the candy is drawn where by they run off the page . Candy overlaps is some areas of the composition. An open(one) piece of candy is drawn.
Test Sheet is used to make prejudgments on all color but not to the extent as it should be.

Composition uses the rule of thirds. A few of the corners are different. A few (two or less) of the candy is drawn where by they run off the page . Candy does not overlap. There is no open piece of candy.

Technique
EXCEEDS
Clearly and consistently shows varying values from dark to light and light to dark. The application of colored pencils are smooth and well blended and have a professional overall look. Multiple colors were used to create a unique color
Color choices enhance the colors around the emphasized area.
PROFICIENT
Values show some consistency from light to dark and dark to light. The application of color values are present but need some work on placement in the background to make it more interesting. The application of colored pencils needs some work to make a smooth overall look. Color choices are good but could have been better thought out.
BELOW AVERAGE
Shows little range of values in the overall project. The are less than three squares of interest in the background. The application is sloppy and not consistent through out the artwork. Color choices were not thought out in its entirety.
IN-PROGRESS
Little to no shading is apparent. No background squares are added to the artwork. The application of colored pencils is not on grade level.
Poor color choices in most of the areas.
Creativity & Craftsmanship
EXCEEDS
The artwork demonstrates original personal expression( the candy chosen and the placement of candy)
Great pride and care has been taken by the student to present a neat, unblemished final composition.
PROFICIENT
The artwork demonstrates some personal expression.
Composition shows some lack of care- slightly crumpled, unwanted marks or smudges.
BELOW AVERAGE
The artwork demonstrates a small amount of personal expression.
Composition shows greater lack of care- multiple creases or crumpled, smudges, etc.
IN-PROGRESS
The artwork lacks evidence of personal expression.
Composition shows signs of neglect that demonstrate the student's lack of pride in the work.

EXCEEDS
The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project as well as possible; used class time or out of class time extremely well.
Student attended THREE TUTORIAL times during the project for teacher/student conferences.
PROFICIENT
The student put forth the effort required to complete the project well; used class time or out of class time well.
Student attended TWO TUTORIAL times during the project for teacher/student conferences.
BELOW AVERAGE
The student put forth minimal effort required to finish the project; used class time or out of class time inadequately.
Student attended ONE TUTORIAL times during the project for teacher/student conferences.
