Introduction	Surpassing States the topic in a creative and clever way to grabs the attention of the reader.	Meeting Limited use of grabbing the attention of the reader.	Approaching States the topics to be presented.	Beginning Does not include the topic of the paper.
Focuses on Topic	Surpassing Clearly states information in an organized manner. Includes a biography of the person. Lists many examples of what this hero is/was known for and why you chose this person to recognize.	Meeting State information in an organized manner. Includes 2 key elements and lists examples of why the person is a hero.	Approaching Stays on topic and includes 1 key elements. The list of examples is limited.	Beginning Includes very little information on their hero.
Conclusion	Surpassing Creatively and clearly restates the topic of the paper.	Meeting Restates the topic and conclusion restates the 3 key elements. Includes a statement about the topic.	Approaching Very brief conclusion, writing only one or two sentences.	Beginning Does not include a conclusion paragraph
