Tense Issues? Did your group write in 3rd person passive past tense when required?	Poor Did not follow tense requirements.	Fair Occasional slip into improper tense, but great try.	Good Consistently in proper text tense. Excellent work!
Conventions? Is the spelling, grammar and punctuation acceptable?	Poor No evidence of proofreading. Needed to spend more time re-reading the finished product.	Fair A fair try with a few errors. Pobody's nerfect.	Good Sign your group up to be peer editors for scientific papers - you nailed it!
Introduction	Poor Failed to follow overview instructions.	Fair Tried to relate information to the topic. May have good info but skipped hypothesis or put it in the wrong section. May have weak background info.	Good Gave great, relevant background. Is interesting. Ended with hypothesis.
Materials & Methods	Poor Doesn't explain what was done or how.	Fair Wrote the old way - a list of materials and a step by step procedure.	Good Gave a good summary of how the reaction was run without extraneous detail.

Conclusions	Poor "Proved hypothesis" No follow up of big picture or understanding of the lab.	Fair Photo missing or just explained if hypothesis was supported or not but did not explain why.	Good Explained if hypothesis was supported or not and explained why. Discussed error, big picture ramifications and included at least one photo.
