This rubric scores the student on number of behavioral episodes, the intensity of behavioral episodes and the ability to self regulate during situations. It is scored so that the higher the percentage, the more frequent, intense the behavior and the less self-regulation used. Goal is to decrease the challenging behavior.

Good

Targeted behavior episodes occur 0-2 times per week. Behavior tracker data depicts an average of 80% or greater of maintaining acceptable behaviors.
Average

Targeted behavior episodes occur more than 3-5 times per week. Behavior tracker data depicts an average of 61-79% or greater of maintaining acceptable behaviors.
Poor

Challenging behavioral episodes occur more than 1 time per day. Behavior tracker data depicts 60% or below behavior average.
Intensity of behavior

Good

Verbalizes undesirable situation and demonstrates compliance with school staff without demonstrating physical and/or verbal actions.
Average

Exhibits another behavior that has escalated verbally and/or even with minimal evidence of physical reaction with behavior (e.g. Clenches fists while talking, yelling/screaming, shoving/kicking at an object)
Poor

Full episode of intense, targeted behavior and may include significant behavior that is dangerous to others as well as self. Result can also be removal from classroom setting.
Self-regulation

*Manages emotions and impulses

Good

Calms self, controls behavior, emotions, and demonstrates emotional self-regulation (the ability to manage disruptive emotions and impulses) daily.
Average

Calms self, controls behavior, emotions, and demonstrates emotional self-regulation (the ability to manage disruptive emotions and impulses) 4-5 times per week.
Poor

Requires external cues to calm self or to move to a safe place to calm self more than 1 time per day.
