Tone	1 Many notes are out of tune and not centered. Tone quality is undesirable.	2 Some notes are out of tune. Pitches are occasionally not centered properly. Tone quality is harsh.	3 Pitches are in tune and centered. A desirable tone quality is produced for this piece.	4 Pitches are well centered and in tune. A desirable tone quality that is appropriate to the music being performed is produced throughout the performance. Tone has depth and warmth.
Rhythm	1 Many rhythms are sung incorrectly.	2 Some rhythms are sung incorrectly.	3 Rhythms are sung correctly.	4 Rhythms are sung correctly and in a style that fits the piece.
Diction	1 Articulation is very unclear.	2 Articulation is evident some of the time but not throughout the entire song. Some words are lost to the listener.	3 Articulation is evident throughout.	4 Strong, clear articulation with confidence is evident throughout.
Independency	1 Unable to hold vocal part against another.	2 Student sings some notes independently, but is not able to hold all of their part against another vocal part.	3 Students are able to stay on their part while singing with another part, most of the time. Each vocal part is heard, however there are some balance issues.	4 Students are able to stay on their part while singing with two or more other parts. Each vocal section is clearly heard, with the melody being more prominent when necessary.
Stage Presence	1 Posture and stage presence is unacceptable.	2 Student needs improvement in posture. Student shows lapses in judgment in professionalism.	3 Student stands with correct posture and is professional in their conduct, however some of the emotion of the song is lost. Performance is somewhat stiff.	4 Students stands with correct posture and is professional in their conduct. Emotion is shown by the way they are standing and expressing through their face an body language.
