Class Participation Grade Class Participation Grade This chart shows you how your class participation grade will be determined. All students are expected to participate in class! I understand that some students are shy and participate in ways other than voluntary class reading or discussion. Other forms of participation include coming to me for extra help and being able to answer in-class FSL dialogue from both the teacher and other students. PREPAREDNESS	Excellent Student: - is always on time for class. - always brings needed materials -always hands in assignments on due date. - always follows classroom procedures.	Good Student: - is usually on time for class. - usually brings needed materials - usually hands in assignments on due date. - usually follows classroom procedures.	Fair Student: - is sometimes late for class. - sometimes brings needed materials - sometime hands in assignments on due date. - sometimes follows classroom procedures.	Poor Student: - is often late for class. - often does NOT bring needed materials - often does NOT hand in assignments on due date. - often does NOT follow classroom procedures.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR	Excellent Student - is always focused on in- class work -provides work of high quality that reflects best effort. - shows high motivation and self direction - shows no disruptive behavior	Good Student - is usually focused on in- class work - often provides work of high quality that reflects best effort. - shows good motivation and self direction - rarely shows disruptive behavior	Fair Student - is sometimes focused on in- class work - sometimes provides work of high quality that reflects best effort. - shows fair motivation and self direction - sometimes shows disruptive behavior	Poor Student - is rarely focused on in- class work -rarely provides work of high quality that reflects best effort. - shows low motivation and self direction - often shows disruptive behavior
CONTRIBUTIONS	Excellent Student - always contributes to class discussions offering insightful ideas and questions - always takes risks by voluntarily offering to read text	Good Student - usually contributes to class discussions offering insightful ideas and questions - usually takes risks by voluntarily offering to read text	Fair Student - sometimes contributes to class discussions offering insightful ideas and questions - sometimes takes risks by voluntarily offering to read text	Poor Student - rarely contributes to class discussions offering insightful ideas and questions - rarely takes risks by voluntarily offering to read text
